AK K9 is a Dog Training Company, owned by Abi Kelsey.

Abi has been working professionally with dogs since 2017. She started as a Dog Walker, in South West Birmingham, in order to care for her dog, Xena, who was failed by her original Dog Walker. Abi left her previous job mainly to ensure that she had enough time with Xena. The company grew from there.

The training grew organically. Especially after Xena became severely aggressive to others, after she and her sister, Nellie, were attacked in their local park.

After shadowing, doing mentorships and working with numerous other Trainers, as well as studying, Abi finally called herself a Dog Trainer and was able to save Xena from being euthanised (an option that one Behaviourist had declared was the best cause of action for Xena), changed their relationship and shaped her into the dog she is today.

Now Abi works with any breed and age of dog. From puppies to seniors. Striving to help owners and their dogs reach harmony.

Abi now has two dogs. This being the dog that started it all: Xena (Rotticorso) and Giddy (Pembroke Welsh Corgi).

AK K9 is run for various reasons: to help owners who are struggling; to open up the world for as many dogs as possible; and to honour Abi's two dearly departed dogs Nellie (Rescue Rottweiler) and Bebe (Show Line Pembroke Corgi) who both died due to health issues at young ages.
